As I started on the Hidden Lake trail, I saw all of these beautiful glacier lilies in bloom, and left the trail to find a nice shot to get the flowers and the mountains in the perfect composition. I waited several hours for the sun to get lower in the sky and make for sweet soft light, photographing the flowers as I went along. My one month assignment had me hiking most of the park’s beautiful trails. In 1850, there were some 150 glaciers in the park; today, there are but 25 active glaciers remaining. Go and hike in Glacier and see some glaciers before they are all gone.
