My type of cardio! After A heavier dinner last night I could have spent my morning doing one of three things:
1. I could have soaked in guilt and continued to overeat with the ‘I’ll start on Monday’ mentality.
2. I could have counted calories on a treadmill and stayed there for hours.
3. I could used the extra energy to push myself through an intense 40 min HIIT workout and still have the day to soak up the sunshine, enjoy myself and spend time with the fam!

Can you guess which one I did? Doing steady state cardio on a machine may burn more calories in the moment BUT a quick HIIT workout where you are maximizing your time and effort will actually KEEP YOU BURNING as the day progresses. When it’s all said and done you actually burn MORE at the end of the day with a HIIT workout than you do.

Try adding a 1-2min round of jump rope into your workouts as your cardio instead of using a machine. Here are a few different variations you can play with to keep it fun and challenge yourself!
