Tyeb Mehta’s ‘Falling Man’, the star lot of our South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction in London, is on view at our King Street galleries.

Created in March 1992, the same year as the Bombay riots, this monumental work formed the central panel of a stage backdrop that Mehta created for a 12-hour anti-sectarian concert and sit-in, where artists, performers and musicians united against the sectarian unrest in Mumbai, as the city teetered on the edge of communal violence.
