Highlights from our forthcoming #London Russian sales are now on view in #Moscow. Visit the @arch_museum to see works by celebrated #RussianArtists, including this beautiful oil on canvas, Excelsior, by Surrealist painter Pavel Tchelitchew. Dated 1934, the painting is a reworking of a portrait of American poet Charles Henri Ford whose boyish beauty had captivated Tchelitchew and triggered a change of direction in his art. Inspired by the summer the artist spent at West Dean in Sussex, England, the work features a butterfly as a symbol of metamorphosis – a motif borrowed from the prominent Spanish Surrealist Salvador #Dali. The exhibition sponsored by @moscowsothebysrealty will be on display until 24 May. #SothebysRussia
