An always welcome reminder. Another reminder is that there is so much more behind the screens, outward appearances and surfaces. It’s easy to assume and size it all up, yet there are layers of depth, circumstances, complexity and history behind all that we see. No one quite knows the facets of the abyss that comprises a person’s heart. Kindness is a gift that can be given to anyone, friend or foe, in pleasantries or unpleasantries alike, when it’s not easy and when it feels natural, and also to our own hearts each and every day.
