Polar Bear was one of the first pictures #Japanese #photographer and #architect Hiroshi Sugimoto made when he arrived in New York in 1974. Fascinated by the large-scale models at the American Museum of #Natural History, he realized the series “Dioramas”, in which he photographed the dioramas with long exposure times, precision of the framing and of the position of the #camera conferring the perfect illusion they were being photographed in their natural #habitat.
