From @tmagazine: Welcome to Robert E. Smith’s Louis XV fever dream. The antiques dealer, a 6th-generation Louisianian, owns this impossibly ornate home about 2 hours from New Orleans. Surrounded by a moat, the 5-story tower has 1 large room per floor, all connected by a steep wooden spiral staircase. From the ground-floor guest room, visitors climb to the entry-level dining area, on to the 3rd-floor bedroom, up to the salon on the 4th floor and finally to the rooftop terrace. It is perpetually 1750 inside this house — give or take a decade or 2. “There really isn’t much use for the present,” @au_vieux_paris_antiques told @tmagazine. All of his décor — from velvet upholstered chairs to parquet de Versailles floors — is period perfect.
