I have a rule about getting back on routes I’ve already done. Don’t do it. It can only go worse. But during our weekend mission to the Monastery, Grand Ole Opry was the only route that stayed dry in the sleet storm, so I figured ??‍♀️why not? Those gneiss continental plates lured me in and reminded me how truly incredible this rock formation and the accompanying moves are. This impeccable line has seen a smattering of slashes and pluses added to its grade over time, but I thought 9 extra years of experience might help me compare it to similarly difficult lines. After a day of playing around, only one thing is certain; Grand Ole Opry is still really freakin hard :)
