being an early bird certainly has its advantages - one from my 6am jont through the village to catch the sunrise - slightly sleepy husband in tow

it’s a habit I’ve adopted over my years of traveling - waking up with the sun at least once during a visit, grabbing a camera and heading out for a wander through the streets of the city or village for a few hours. I love this glimpse at the soul of the place. More often than not I’m rewarded with a sublime quiet, empty streets and if I’m lucky, a stumble upon the local bakery later in the morning for a warm from the oven pastry and a hot cup of hot black coffee . .
here though I had to chuckle to myself as I encountered others with the same travel game plan as me, cameras sound round their necks and the odd one or two with a tripod over their shoulder - it seems in a places as beautiful as here I’m not the only one wanting to wake up to the sunrise - sill got a lovely shot of “that” hillside just after the sun came up in Oia
