Tonight in our Hong Kong gallery, we unveiled Amedeo Modigliani’s ‘Nu couché (sur le côté gauche)’ to a packed audience of collectors and media. Painted a century ago, it is the greatest work from an iconic series in which Modigliani reinvented the nude for the Modern era. ‘Nu couché’ will be the star lot of the May auction season in New York, estimated to sell for in excess of $150 million in our Evening Sale of Impressionist & Modern Art on 14 May.
