I’ve spent the last handful of years being single by choice after coming out of an horrendous relationship since my teens because i didn’t know that the rest of the world didn’t behave like that, I didn’t know that I was allowed freedom, choice and understanding and it took me such a very long time to readjust, like stepping out of the darkness into light for the first time you become blinded. I had to find myself again, realise everything that made me who I am and see and do the things that bring me happiness. It was as if I’d been reborn, a second chance at life and I am eternally grateful for my freedom. So many people stay in toxic abusive and possessive relationships for the fear of being alone and unloved but what happens when you’re already alone and unloved in a controlling relationship anyway? I realised through my heartache from the shock of change that I could heal and become stronger alone, my heart even more loving and mind more focused by being able to truly be myself and not live beneath anyone else who didn’t love or appreciate me. True love isn’t control, slavery and ownership of another person, it’s dedication, understanding and acceptance and that’s what makes it so beautiful my darlings. So please spend time alone, reconnect with yourself and never be afraid to walk away from people who don’t deserve you, you’re worth far more than you realise --------------------------
