I don’t think I ever posted about this thoughtful gift from @emilydianaruth. Emily and her Dad made this for me out of a barn board that is over 100 years old. They carved out the shape of my home state, Oklahoma, where I lived my entire life before moving to Los Angeles. It is where most of my family resides and some of my friends still do. This piece is a beautiful reminder of home and of my loved ones. My family is about to embark on a very difficult week together next week. Throughout this journey, our friends and family have really shown up and been incredibly helpful, thoughtful, and present in many different ways. Phone calls, hangouts, pet sitting, house sitting, hikes, rides, emails, letters, photos, trips, meals, drinks, laughs, checking in. This post is a thank you to all of them. I don’t think I could have survived this time without them and my love @michaeljackgreenwald. Surround yourself with people who will stay by your side when you are going through your worst and for whom you would do the exact same. Life’s too crazy to go at it alone. ❤️
