As you may know my mum was diagnosed with stage 3 bowel cancer at the age of 58, she had her bowels, womb, ovaries and lymph nodes removed and now lives with a permanent colostomy. After radiotherapy and two rounds of chemotherapy she has just been given the all clear and knowing I have another precious day with my mother on this Earth is such an indescribable feeling, my heart aches for all who have lost loved ones to such a cruel disease as cancer. Yet bowel cancer only receives half the funding that it requires because bottoms, bums, bowels and their functions are bizarrely a taboo in today’s society - so let’s talk about it guys!
