Bucket list Onsen - Nyuto Onsen in Akita, checked! 乳頭温泉 literally means Nipple Hotspring, which sounds really strange but it is really what you think it is, as the Nyuto Mountain has a... nipple. ? The name is also aptly given as the spring here has an opaque, milky hue that resembles that of a nipple’s production? Haha. Mommies who has ever hand-express in a bathtub knows it (?? guilty! Did it many times when I had to travel without @cheesiepetit. Sorry if TMI?). This is the konyoku (mixed bath), and I think it makes perfect sense that it is made into a mixed bath, as the milkiness makes the water non see-through. Females can feel at ease that you won’t be exposed. No photos are allowed of course, but we went there 6am and there was no one so I snapped a photo just so you can see how amazing it is, surrounded by fluffy white snow left from last night’s light pour. You are welcome. ?
