Completed my sacred shrine pilgrimage with Izumo Taisha in Shimane Prefecture. Firstly of course it was Meiji Jingu (Tokyo), last year I also visited Ise Jingu (Mie), Itsukushima Jinja (Hiroshima) and Amani-Iwate Jinja (Miyazaki). Izumo Taisha is one of the oldest shrines in Japan and is said to be the place where all Shinto Gods gather. It’s known for the giant shimenawa (sacred straw rope), which my Tabikaeru? also visited and sent me a photo of! ? For those praying for good relationships, Izumo Taisha is also specially famous for its “enmusubi” (matchmaking) power. Anyone putting this on your list next?⛩
