#womensmonth As I said from the stage last year in Bangor, Maine, Senator Susan Collins is a hero - my hero! And, I’m honored to call her a friend and to have worked with her over the past few years to prevent and end youth homelessness in America. Senator Collins always walks the walk and due in great part to her leadership, Congress has allocated close to $170 million over the past three years to invest in 46 communities across the country to final figure out how we can end the epidemic of homelessness that is impacting over 1.6 million youth each year. Also, she is a ‘radical moderate’ - her own words. I love that! Senator Collins works every day to heal the political divide that keeps growing deeper and deeper in our country. While she is a member of one political party - the Republican Party - she continuously works with her colleagues across the aisle to find solutions to our country’s most troubling problems.
