Sharing some citrus love, before it's too late, from the most ordinary of Roman angles: one of an "alimentari"s (small grocery shop). Spring and summer arrive too soon in Italy. There's a rush towards the bikini season and the classic vacation time in August and that can deprive you from savoring those mild moments. There's an end line somewhere in July. A marathon towards August where everything ends, dies and you have no choice but to go on mandatory holidays. I can't believe I heard the first "[it'll start] in SEPTEMBER" already last week! C'mon people! There are still oranges around (saw the first cantaloupes and plums in the supermarket yesterday!), kales and cabbages are slowly giving up their spot to fava beans and asparagus. Please don't rush Spring into the hot torrid summer. Just don't rush. Steady, go on, without dreaming of a finish line. There's no finish line. Well, except for one, but until that time, let's just walk steadily and enjoy the journey.
Now let's go make a big glass of fresh orange juice on the eighth day of spring. ???
