Mine is letting go! This is my son Val, he’s the heart of the family! I love him more than he can comprehend ❤️ The moment I met him he took a piece of my heart. He’s 19 now, he’s becoming a man and wanting to venture out in search of his own life. I can’t say I’m not sad about it ? He finished his HS credits today and he officially graduated ? He wants to join the military now. I wish I could keep them babies forever! Occasionally it’s overwhelming my oldest is 22, Raym is 8, G just turned 2 ?

When I was 17 I left my oldest who was 2 at the time with my mom. I was separated from my abusive ex who lived in Lubbock I was living with my mom at home in Corpus Christi, TX. One day while my mom was home alone with the baby, my ex walked in grabbed my son, put him in the car and drove back to Lubbock. My mom walked back into the room and the baby was gone we didn’t even know it was him that took the baby till he called. Yes the front door was unlocked ??‍♀️ Since there was no custody in place I couldn’t do anything about it. He would call me with the baby crying in the background and leave the phone off the hook just so I could listen. He didn’t want my son he just wanted to punish me, this was the deepest form of abuse. I cried all day I couldn’t function I didn’t get out of bed, literally I felt like I was dying. He finally brought him back after some time but I think this specific event in my life is why I have a hard time letting my kids go. I love them so much it’s hard!! Reading the book “the 5 levels of attachment” is teaching me to let things like this go and work through it though.
