?Have you ever had a friend or family member say something about you that hurt you? What was it? Comment below ?? _ As a little girl I remember never feeling pretty, I was never told “your pretty” by the adults in my family. I had that typical Mexican upbringing where love is not something that is shown. As child my dads family would call me “blackie or negra” but not in an endearing way in a negative way. They would say it and I would cry and they would laugh. They called my mom “ugly” in Spanish so my parents always felt like “well it could be worse.” It’s so crazy how we carry those things around all our life. I remember always wishing my skin was lighter because they made me feel like an outsider or like I wasn’t like them. I struggled a lot with the feeling of rejection. I assumed that people didn’t like me so I always had a wall up. I felt like if I don’t like you first then you won’t have a chance to hurt me. It wasn’t until much later, through personal development that I realized God made me perfect. Beauty is not something the eye can see it’s something the heart feels. You can show people your beauty in how you treat them and love them. My dark skin is and always was beautiful and when the sun kisses it just right it shimmers. I love it ? I’m proud of who I am regardless of anyone’s opinion because I now understand hurt people hurt others to make them feel the way they do. When someone says something to you like “your ugly, your too fat, your worthless, it’s because inside they are hurting. Happy people don’t hurt others, happy people would never want to hurt another. Understand the next time a friend or family member says something hurtful rather than letting it get inside you FORGIVE them and know they are hurting and lashing out on you. How you decide to handle the situation is up to you but do not believe it’s true, your not fat, your not ugly and your not worthless. Your amazing and perfect as you are. ❤️ _ If you haven’t please pick up the book “The 4 agreements” that book literally changed my life the chapter “don’t take it personal” I use it daily. #fitfam #positivevibes #motivation #advice #love #hope
