Since its installation at LACMA in 2008, Chris Burden's Urban Light has become an icon of Los Angeles. Yet less is known about the streetlights themselves: who made them, where they came from, and where they can be found today.⠀
"Urban Light: A Field Guide" explores the histories of each of the 16 streetlight models represented in the sculpture.⠀

Written by historian India Mandelkern (@newarabella) and illustrated by artist @didi_beck, this 24-page booklet takes readers on a streetlight scavenger hunt throughout L.A. County.⠀
