Being a mom is my greatest gift, but it's also my biggest struggle. Every day my patience is testing, my negotiating skills are flexed and my ability to juggle 12 things a day has been broken. I can't do it all, and I'm learning to be okay with that. . Leaving dirty dishes in the sink means I can sit and enjoy my coffee in the morning with my husband. Driving through Taco Bell for dinner means I don't have to hit the grocery store before the kids come home. Rocking a ponytail (for the fifth day in a row) means I can do a pretty braid in my daughter's hair for school. I pick and chose my options and try to see good in them all. . I also know I can get a little out of hand with the number of shortcuts I take or cups of coffee I've had in a day. When I start feeling sluggish and bloated and find dreadlocks in my hair (for real), it's my body telling me it's time to focus on myself. . So how does a 34 year woman who eats Taco Bell and guzzle coffee look + feel so healthy? Because I do- even with all that I shared above. The key to my success is getting in my daily green smoothie, running with friends AND doing a quarterly reset to stop the downward spiral. Three cups of coffee in a day means that I'm over tired, overstressed and undernourished. I don't want to live in that state for very long.
