Photo by @jim_sugar | In the course of a wonderful, extended discussion with Pulitzer Prize winning photographer Kim Komenich, we decided to try out a few photographic ideas that had been puzzling us. We wanted to test out Kim’s new iPhone 7 in Portrait mode vs. my iPhone 5s. (They were nearly identical,) We also wanted to shoot the photo using the rapidly fading late afternoon Rembrandt light in front of Ye Olde Cigar Store in Mill Valley, California. Finally, we tried to mimic a portrait shot by Richard Avedon, Kim was a great sport and a wonderful model. Lots of great snaps. Here is one of the results.
