If you haven’t tried it, you are definitely missing out. Bison is packed with great flavor, low in fat, high in protein, and is a lower calorie and lower cholesterol choice then beef, pork, turkey, skinless chicken and even some fish! This protein is much more nutritionally dense then many of the sources I have shown, having more Iron and Vitamin B12. This meat is almost always grass-fed or free-range allowing it to be packed with healthy omega-3 essential fatty acids which help fight heart disease, unlike much of the saturated fat in conventional red meat associated with heart disease. *Be careful when cooking it though. Since it is lower in fat it can dry out, so don’t cook it too long. If you want to get leaner, put on muscle, or looking for a real change, I think you will be surprised with the changes you can make if you take that first step.
