Arriving back home after a very emotional week at #USChamps18. I really thought the US Championships (even in an Olympic year) would be less stressful not competing... not so sure that’s entirely the case. Truthfully, to understand what these athletes put into those few moments on the ice is to root for each of them. The time, the desire, the sacrifice... it all comes down to just a few moments out there, yet the impact endures. As we move forward towards the Olympic Games, I’d like to ask everyone to take a moment to consider this. Yes, we all have our favorites. There are those we think may be more deserving than others... OF COURSE! This is the nature of sport. Favorites or otherwise, Americans or otherwise, “successful” or otherwise.... let’s remember that these athletes are, indeed, individuals who’ve dedicated their entire lives to something. I believe that to be the most pure aspect of the Olympic Games. Despite everything, we come together to stand in awe of the great examples of resilience, perseverance & the strength of the human spirit on display. Let’s allow this very special event to unite us in admiration, gratitude & respect. Let’s allow each of these athletes to #inspire the best in us all ?? 1 month to go!
