Parents always say, ‘they grow up so fast’ and when you’re having a day running on 4% energy, it doesn’t feel like it.
When you take stock though and reflect on a year, it’s quite incredible how much these little people blossom right in front of us. Darcy is most definitely, a good girl.

2017 has been a big year for my Doodlebug.
She’s had her first trips to continental Europe! We took her to Alicante in January where a giant wave splashed up onto the promenade and soaked Liam’s shoes haha! In April we popped to Malaga where our hotel also had a slide in the lobby which to a six year old, is genius! In May, as a special treat from the new baby we found was growing in Mummy’s tummy, we hopped on a train to Disneyland Paris for a weekend and marvelled at the pink castle, pink hotel and how often Mummy could be sick in one day (yay pregnancy!)! Our summer was packed with playdates and parties (and puke/hormones/growing a baby for me). On one of the days I hired a 17ft bouncy castle for her to play on with a gaggle of her friends and scored all the cool points! This summer was also the time we got in the car, drove out to the country side ‘just to look at’ a kitten and came home with 2 in a box- Welcome Milky and Orbit!

On top of the big things, her year has been full of all the little things. Friends birthday parties at every soft play centre going), new dresses to swirl around in, snuggly moments in bed watching films together, time at the pool where we’ve taught her to swim and jump in with confidence, afternoons out in cosy coffee shops, evenings in restaurants with me and Liam and a packet of free crayons, giggles at Mummy who once said ‘silly willy’ instead of ‘silly billy’ and this is still a source of entertainment and all the bits in between.
2017 for this little girl has been a good one. It’s been filled with love, family and joy. <3
