We tracked one group of chimps in Senegal for six weeks from dawn to dusk with researcher Jill Pruetz for @ナショナルジオグラフィック. It was hot and humid, we carried heavy packs, and the chimps moved fast and went far. In the end I had lost nearly 20 pounds of body weight, but we had gained precious insights about the intimate lives of our nearest relatives on the great tree of life.
