Check out why 19 year-old September Porras is fighting to preserve her #ClimateLegacy: "I'm contributing a patch from Costa Rica where my father emigrated from when he was a teenager and where most of my family still lives today. My father works as a landscaper in my home state of Florida, where every year is consistently the hottest year on record. For much of my childhood he actually worked with my abuelita, both of them, out under the Florida sun. I remember one summer I worked with him, every day I would come home and be so exhausted. One day I turned to him and asked him, 'Do you enjoy what you do?' He shrugged and he said, 'I enjoy our home and our life.' For me, this patch represents all the people who are laboring under worsening conditions due to climate change and an unjust political system.
