While traveling in Sri Lanka, you still see elephants used for working throughout the country, sometimes under questionable conditions. These particular elephants were part of an elephant rescue program, dedicated to taking elephants from conditions where they were suffering, and attempting to offer them some sort of peace in the remainder of their lives.
