AM I A VEGAN/VEGETARIAN/MEATATARIAN??? I get asked this question all the time, and I figured I’d address it in a caption (and I might go into greater depth on YouTube later this month) ⠀ ⠀ When I was 13, I became a pescatarian (the only meat I ate was from seafood). My decision back then was dictated by my need to control my intake (which was an early sign of an eating disorder). Restricting my diet back then seemed to give me an artificial sense of control, but I did not see it as so. Only now, as I step back, do I realize that it was a disordered diet to sustain. I continued this for 6 years (2014) ⠀ 3 years later, I am practicing pescatarianism again, but this time it is for different reasons: it stems from ethics, not disorder?. I choose to limit my meat intake because I love my furry friends very much. In no way has this decision elicited a distorted view on my diet or a fallacious attempt at seeking control. This is just what I feel like doing.? ⠀ I still eat seafood and meat alternatives because it is simply a more practical way to maintain a high protein intake, which is important for me as a bodybuilder/athlete. Also, I love seafood and sushi is my favourite?. ⠀ Hopefully this helps some of your questions. Overall I’m very much ok with not eating chicken, beef, or pork. I still feel stwong in the gym and I feel closer to Mother Nature than I’ve ever felt. ? ⠀ And NO, this is not an invitation for anyone to perpetuate their own ethics on my decision. What other people eat or don’t eat is NOT your concern. It can be an awfully dangerous practice to belittle and bully people with shame for eating what you may not agree with. This can trigger anxiety, guilt, and eating disorder symptoms. I have a lot of positive people reading my comments, so if anyone pulls out a guilt-trip card on morally wrong foods to eat, your comments will be deleted??‍♀️. This page is for positivity only ok?⭐️?? ⠀ Speaking of positivity and vegetarianism, I am taking over @nutrabio’s Instagram Story at 2PM PST to make my macro friendly vegetarian lunch ! ?Come join me for some fun ? #yourbody #yourules #compassion #healthymindset
