Photo by @joepetersburger // THE BEST NEVER RESTS // Southern hawker (Aeschna cyanea) #dragonfly is one of the most attractive from all dragonfly species by my opinion. Moreover, they are not afraid to get really close (couple inches), if you enter the territory! I love the effect on this pic that the wings are literally disappearing because of the light background, even I used strobelight. It gives a bittersweet taste for the picture that it was taken at Recsk's former Forced Labour Camp, where mass of people were forced to move and work at terrible conditions (many of them died) after defeating Hungary's revolution in 1956. Once it was Hell, now a museum and habitat of this amazing species! Taken only 100 miles from my actual residency. No need to travel far away for fantastic experience.
