At times I become equally entranced. That night, lost within, entangled with Baryo as he faded behind a wafting curtain of incense, he traveled while chanting incantations into the deepest trance I'd witnessed. A shaman, Baryo communicates with the spirit that is believed to reside in Mount Bromo, a most mystical, beautifully spiritual volcano in all of Indonesia. Took some time for me to return, never moving the camera, so pulled from his murmur and sway. Upon his return into this world, Baryo asked whether I was alright. In kind reply, telling him I was, we touched hands, thanking each other through smiling eyes of silence.
