In conjunction with our Guggenheim Abu Dhabi exhibition #TheCreativeAct, artist Susan Hefuna developed a dance performance in which student performers navigated the gallery space as though it were a city street. Hefuna describes part of the rehearsal process, which took place at an actual crosswalk in Abu Dhabi: “I think it was very interesting for them to rehearse several times on the street, to actually feel it in their bodies interacting with each other as a group, and at the same time interacting with audience on the street; to feel and absorb the energy of people on the street.” Learn more about the performance and Hefuna’s practice at guggenheim.org/blogs.
