So, it's that time of the year again; time for the #SaveurBlogAwards nomination. I hereby humbly ask you to take a moment and shortlist my blog, www.labnoon.com for the award (link in bio). In particular, I would be grateful if you shortlisted my post "Immigrant Food Stories: A Persian Quince Stew, A Supper Club & A Cookbook from When It Rained Bombs" for the THE FOOD & CULTURE AWARD: BEST SINGLE ESSAY. All you need to do is to paste the post's link, and you can find the post by searching "quince" on labnoon.com. (Explained better in the stories) I would also like to add a note, that could sound polemical and controversial, and it probably is. Great talents in the food blogging world have risen in the recent years. Yet not all of them have huge numbers, and not all of them have been given the recognition they deserve. No matter who runs an award and who gets shortlisted and who wins, a certain amount of controversy is inevitable. I have found many amazing bloggers that have inspired me by their beautiful and well-prepared content since day 1, through the lists of awards of the past years. I have also, had the pleasure of knowing incredibly talented cooks, photographers, food writers and stylists who blog, but have never been shortlisted for big awards. So, after reflecting upon this for many months now, I think it's best for us bloggers to just "do our own sh!t", and live the award season more peacefully (and definitely not run ads and promotions to get nominations and votes, because yes! Many do that!) Having said all that, I tag some amazing bloggers that in my opinion create great content, be it photography, food writing, recipes etc. Thank you very very much. Without the support of you readers, we'd all be just thinking out loud. Cheers and have a great Sunday! #LabNoon #LabNoonFood @saveurmag
