In Azerbaijan, while working on a long term assignment, I found a very specific and interesting tradition.
This picture belongs to a series of photo reports on the Christian, Muslim and Jewish communities of Azerbaijan, who inhabit the same land. This unique exhibition sheds light on the incredible assimilation of diverse religious groups all driven by the desire to share in a mutual respect that is not present in other countries.

The Jews of Baku are called The Mountain Jews. Their language is a mixture of old persian and hebrew.
There are three different synagogues and three different communities : The Mountain Jews, The Ashkenazies and the Georgeians Jews.
