Carry a torch for this pair of bronzes modelled by Salvador Dalí on his own arms and hands? In 1965 Fausto Bonvicini travelled to Paris from his foundry in Verona at Dalí’s bequest to produce moulds which were subsequently cast and assembled according to the artist’s instructions. Partly gilded with gold leaf, ‘Les Bras de Dalí’ were formerly owned by Alexander Iolas, the influential 20th-century art dealer who introduced an American audience to Surrealism.
