'The ‘Crash’ was designed in London, in 1967, during the Swinging Sixties. The story goes that Jacques Cartier, then Head of Cartier London, was inspired by a ‘Baignoire Allongée’ wristwatch which had melted in a car accident and was brought in for repair.'

'This unconventional model immediately became immensely popular, with its asymmetric design and psychedelic numerals. This modern version was released in 1991, part of a limited edition of 400 pieces.'
