Katsushika Hokusai, one of Japan's best-known artists, was just a child when he started creating art and continued until his death in 1849, aged 88.

A selection of his works will be available in our upcoming sale 'An Inquiring Mind: American Collecting of Japanese & Korean Art' taking place on 25th April at Christie's New York, Rockefeller Centre.
