"This portrait of Camryn Clark is one of my favorite fashion portraits to date. It was a personal shoot. No client, no budget, just shooting for the fun of it. I think it’s crucial and even mandatory that every photographer pursue personal projects all the time. That’s where our best work is made and our passion really comes to life. Looking back on over a decade of commercial assignments, it’s easy to get burnt out. Sometimes you’re just there to push a button and you have no creative control. Sometimes you can’t show the work you’ve created due to copyright buyouts. Sometimes they pick the worst images from your shoot. But with personal work? You’re the boss.
