"This is one of the famous wild ponies living on Assateague Island in #Maryland. I had been there since before dawn - and in this photo, the sun was setting as clouds filled the sky. What you can't see behind me, is the massive summer thunderstorm barreling towards the island. Looking out towards the Atlantic Ocean, the sky was serene, and this mare dozed peacefully as the storm approached. I took only a handful more photos, including a few of the massive storm clouds, after this one before heading back to my car and watching the torrential downpour that came with thunder and lighting across the island. I still marvel at the quiet calm of the #ponies on the beach that evening as the storm brewed." #MyCanonStory
