Each of us are a product of our upbringing. What we see, hear, feel, learn from our fathers or mothers, neighbors or strangers, imbeds in our heart and mind. Anger or happiness. Idleness or commitment, war or peace. Every experience, every action or inaction, word or expression, becomes who we are once adults. With so much we can do in achieving as humans, the weakness we impose through suffering, unkind acts, oppression upon others, war and displacement, all burden humanity. Working in studio today, again I could not shake these continued realities, recalling a disturbing wall of art I once saw in Kabul, sketched in black chalk...by children.
