Portraits in Motion: Gazing out at the viewer with an aloof stare, Julian Opie’s instantly recognisable images of Ruth Smoking encapsulate his brand of pop art rewritten. Visual artist Opie initially takes #photographs of his subject matter before digitally manipulating these to construct his images by a process of elimination and distillation – questioning modern life and how we see things. This set of five prints will go on view as part of our #MadeinBritain exhibition in #London from Friday 31 March. #JulianOpie #PopArt
