Along with her husband François-Xavier, Claude #Lalanne began exhibiting her irresistibly whimsical sculptures in the 1970s. Inspired by the diverse flora and fauna that surrounded her, this rare and unique topiary fountain exhibits playful, Surrealist elements and is among Claude's most unique creations. 'Dimetrodon II', ? here, was modeled after the #dinosaur of the same name that roamed the earth 295-272 million years ago. Borrowing features from its Prehistoric ancestor, the sizeable copper and steal sculpture includes a large spine sail on its back, a horn on its forehead, oversized plant-covered body, and fountain element that sprays water through its sharp teeth.
