Between 1979 and 1986, Andy Warhol embarked on an innovative retrospective phase of his career.

Reversing the colours in his most iconic works, his new series became a post-modern reinterpretation of his own art. This otherworldly silkscreen, Marilyn (Reversal), was created 20 years after his first depiction of his beloved muse.
