The light changed, the sun shines more and its gray less. Spring is on it's way. I'm impatient for it, giddy at signs of it. A crocus pushed its way through the earth in the yard, early of course, but I reached down to peer at it closer, as if it held a message for me that logic and the season deny. I recall the light changing last year, and I wrote about it on the nineteenth of February. I woke and puttered about with my coffee and then the light came, almost glowing, filling up the small vestibule and then stretching itself across the rooms until it reached the edge of the kitchen. I'm just sitting here for a moment before diving into my work, coffee in hand, watching that same sun weave its way around the objects in our home, a slight less than a year later, and thinking how much has changed, how much I've changed, and how much hope and renewal this spring holds for us after a year of so much uncertainty and darkness. I am taking a moment to feel gratitude. What are you feeling this morning - as the sun shifts a bit in his seat and a crocus promises things anew?
