The company opened its 6-week season with a program called “Balanchine Short Stories.” “Nobody in ballet told better stories than the choreographer George Balanchine,” writes the @ニューヨーク・タイムズ dance critic @alastair.macaulay. “Firebird,” he writes, “takes you on a journey from fairy-tale into history, beginning with mythological adventure and ending in social ceremony.” Over the years, the dance’s title role has eluded most interpreters. @shetess is the exception, he writes, “taking different dramatic colors from the Stravinsky music.” Follow @andrea_mohin to see more photos of #CityBallet dancers and more. #? #regram
