2016, you've been good to me. ?

This year was not a wishing well, but it didn't need to be. I didn't need a fairytale dictate my happiness— I never did. Rather, I needed myself, in all empathy, understanding, and love. The downfalls of this year are my buffers; the victories are my momentum.
I met the love of my life in the early months of 2016; a few months after, this man became my fiancé.
I stepped on stage twice, in remembrance of my brother and his undying strength. May God bless him in all the ways he blessed me.
This year I entered into the faculty of my dreams after some time off school (due to recovery and moments of grief). I am finally finding comfortability in my academic goals.

I was introduced to friends of genuine character; I have built relationships that promise a lifetime of gratitude.
I shed armour and showed vulnerability: I shared my story of battling anorexia, finding recovery in self love and proactivity. My past pain continue to bring purpose for my life.
I've shared my deepest passions with my friends on social media, and hope to continue this journey with you all on board.
I tried new things— I have yet to regret it. I opened my heart— I've never felt more assured. I love myself — it intensifies each day.
Thank you 2016, for showing me that love is never weak, and that I never was.
