Just keep moving. Even if it’s only an inch forward. That’s the key. How else would cyclists riding in La Ruta de Los Conquistadores — a #mountainbike race marketed, quite reasonably, as the world’s toughest — make it to the finish line in one piece? How else would they conquer a merciless route that includes steep climbs, choking humidity, muddy jungle trails and swift-moving rivers that may or may not contain the occasional hungry crocodile? While on #nytassignment in Costa Rica in November, the photographer @scottymacphoto captured the challenges of crossing railroad bridges during the annual race: the tires slick with oil, the yawning gaps and the boys who delight in playfully taunting the racers. The real question about this race is not how the riders finish it. It’s this: Why did they start it? Visit the link in our profile to read more. #?
