‘Temasek Rice’ is one of the many interesting projects I saw at the @temaseklifesciences Laboratory yesterday. The grain is naturally bred through a precise selection process developed by the lab.
The result is a hardy and nutritious grain with a higher yield than other rice varieties. It can withstand extreme environmental conditions brought about by climate change, such as heat, drought and floods. But perhaps most important to consumers, Temasek Rice is softer and tastier than other brown rice varieties. I was given a packet and look forward to trying it soon. :) Enjoyed learning about the lab’s work, its focus on sustainability and on using science to improve our environment and lives.
