“My philosophy is, it’s never too late for anything,” Peggy Lee Brennan, 62, told @ニューヨーク・タイムズ. In her youth, Peggy Lee entered the 1973 Miss Staten Island contest, where she was first runner-up. 43 years later, she’s a beauty pageant champion. Peggy Lee (Ms. Missouri) was crowned Ms. Senior America for 2016 at this year’s pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Of course, this Branson resident had a considerable advantage over her competition: She’s a professional entertainer. She played Radar’s girlfriend in “M*A*S*H,” in the late 1970s, and performed in “Grease” on Broadway with Patrick Swayze. “As an actress, they say, lie about your age!” Peggy Lee said, clutching a bouquet of red roses in one hand while adjusting her tiara with the other. “I never wanted to lie, so I’d always joke and give my age range. Now I feel like I’ve been set free.” @rogerkisby photographed Peggy Lee taking a walk on the Atlantic City boardwalk after winning the Ms. Senior America pageant.
