While studying environmental science at New York University, Lauren Singer realized her lifestyle didn't reflect her sustainably conscious mind-set and knew she had to make a change. "I decided to stop using plastics and to live a zero-waste lifestyle," notes the eco-warrior, who begin documenting her green living efforts such as making her own beauty products, composting food waste, and shopping at the farmers market on her blog, Trash Is For Tossers. Now known for fitting all of her landfill-bound garbage from the past four years into single Mason Jar, Lauren also heads up her toxin-free cleaning-product company, The Simply Co. "If everyone did just one thing to reduce their ways, it would have a major impact," she shares. "That's what motivates me to push forward and show people another option for how we can live." ?
